![]() Now, I should say the FFB isn’t the best. The soundscape is deep and diverse, with a wide range of sound effects (not just engine stuff, though the engines sound amazing) and the way the car notes change as you upgrade, so cool. While I had been worried about audio, I can happily report this has actually been really well done and is one of my favourtie parts. It starts out hard tk drive just like the civic, but as I race it and upgrade it, man on man does it come alive!!! The changes to its handling are so distinctive, it is so cool how it feels and changes. Then I do the next series in a Hyundai, and it all becomes clear. I remember Hoki saying similar things in his preview… ![]() ![]() It steers easy, not heavy, it is snappy, agile, yet stable. With the intro done, I go to my garage to get the NSX GT3 car I’ve been dying to drive (my main in ACC) and all of a sudden, I’m blown away by how good it feels in comparison to the civic. I don’t do well at Oak, do ok at Mugello but surprise myself at Kyalami and get 2nd. I battle through the introduction series. ![]() The changes I made to stock settings are:Īnyway, so I start with level 5 difficulty and Medium race settings. While I’ve now managed to get to something I can happily play with, I still think there’s a fair bit of fine tuning to be done.įor reference, I’m on XSX and using a Fanatec wheel. I was pretty annoyed at first thinking it was worse than FM7 and all the rest of it. I spent an hour and a half just screwing around with the wheel settings trying to get them right. The basic settings have a lot of progression in the steering meaning the driver turns more than I am, the steering is way to heavy (over damped) and I just stumble through the corvette and Cadillac entry features.ĭoesn’t get any better when I start the introduction cup with the civic. The intro sequence was pretty much ruined for me as the inital wheel settings are bad, awful even. There's no reason it would work for me and not you.So I changed my timezone to NZ and got on a few hours early, and here’s my first impressions. Try binding the re-center function to your wheel, it should work. I can re-center VR view as soon as the session begins before clicking anything, before clicking start button on the left. My sim rig is right next to my computer table to I just reach over to reach my K&M.Īlso, you say that you can't re-center VR before you click the drive button, but for me it's not like this. The way you describe it, it does indeed seem like a headache. Pushing one button on the steering wheel to drive would be 1,000x better to me.Īlternative: leave the keyboard on my lap the entire time before the race and when I drive, or build a large wrap around table with increased surface area dedicated for keyboard (not practical in my room). I have to (with VR goggles on), put the keyboard down somewhere randomly on the floor or couch behind me, and hope I don't knock anything over. I cannot reset the view, to find the drive button, until AFTER I've hit the drive button, which is impossible because my steering wheel key mapping to reset the VR view isn't available until I click the drive buttonĤ. ![]() I have to use the wireless keyboard mousepad while looking for the DRIVE buttonģ. I have to find my wireless keyboard, which I previously put down somewhere (but not on my steering wheel mount because vibration will knock it off when driving)Ģ. I wish they offered a one button way to start driving instead of mouse based!ġ. Makes sense it would have to be a script or autohotkey thing. It's a little more cumbersome in VR but I wouldn't call it a major pain. Unless there's a script out there to allow us to choose a predetermined setup for any given track and just launch the session and drive off. Not that I've seen, since the start up menu allows us to choose setups before driving off. Is there a mod to do this for me, or a way to map a button to the keyboard or wheel to just start driving, so I don't have to hunt for my mouse each time when VR headset is on? I want to make it so I don't have to use the mouse to move the yellow dot over to the menu to leave the pits and be able to drive every single time, which is a major pain for other people using my VR setup, and really should not be a necessary step.
